Today we’re pointing the spotlight at Mrs. Wylie, our 1st grade teacher! Although she’s only in her third year as a teacher, she’s been remarkably adaptable, having taught a different grade each year. A Harry Potter fan, Mrs. Wylie has no doubt that Slytherin is the House she’d be sorted into. When asked what her favorite thing about the job was, Mrs. Wylie replied, “recess duty.” If that answer is truthful and not cleverly sarcastic, she has become the first elementary teacher in American history to give that response.

Hey Seniors! Remember that the SD Free Application Period and the MN College Knowledge Month opens October 1st! SD Public Colleges/Universities have free applications during the months of October and November and many MN colleges have free applications during October, so this is a great time to get those college applications submitted!

This morning our homecoming royalty went to Lake Benton Elementary to join their pep rally. The kids cheered loud and made some awesome posters, which we have hung around our school. The 5th grade class remains the reigning champs as they won the victory cheer again this year. Thank you, LBE, for a fun morning filled with Elk pride!
