We had a successful blood drive yesterday! There were 21 total donations, helping 63 local patients. The Community Blood Bank supplies blood products to our local hospitals, so these donations directly benefit people in our area. They continue to experience a blood shortage, so if you were unable to donate yesterday but still wish to do so, we encourage you to visit http://cbblifeblood.org/ and sign up!

Just another friendly reminder…. 5 senior pictures need to be turned in to Mrs. Yackley by no later than April 1st. These do not necessarily need to be done by a professional photographer, but do need to be 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches in size.
For any students who do not turn in their pictures by April 1st we will print copies of the senior’s school picture that was taken in the fall to use for the newspaper announcements, class composite, and yearbook.
I still have a large number of students who have not turned in their pictures, so please remind your student to take care of this. Please contact Mrs. Yackley if you have any questions or concerns and thank you to those who have turned in their pictures already!

At the board meeting last night, it was decided that the three days we have missed of school thus far (2 days for state volleyball and 1 snow day) will be made up by students and staff at the end of the year.
This means the last day for students will be Wednesday, May 25th.

On Tuesday, March 29th, the Elkton Chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting its annual blood drive. You can save a patient’s life with your blood donation. The need for donations is critical as there is a nationwide blood shortage due to a decline in donations during the pandemic. Blood donation continues to be safe and is vital for getting blood to local patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a parent’s signature, and weigh at least 110 pounds. They must be in generally good health, and cannot have a cold, fever, etc. Valid I.D. must be provided at the time of donation. It is important for donors to be well hydrated and eat a full breakfast and lunch the day of the donation.
Last year, the 22 donors in the Elkton Blood Drive saved 66 lives. Throughout The Elkton’s partnership with the Community Blood Bank, 1,225 total donations have been made. To be part of this important event, call the Elkton School at 605-542-2541 or contact National Honor Society members Charlie Harming or Lane Thompson to schedule your appointment.
