JH & HS Marching Bands were in Arlington on Thursday, September 29th. Next Friday, they will be in Chester.
6th graders worked with the Culinary Arts students to make fruit pizza's. Students made the cream cheese frosting and glaze that went over the fruit. They connected the things they did to their science lesson.
4th graders worked with the Culinary Arts students to make fruit smoothies. They learned about healthy snacks and the different measuring tools utilized in the kitchen.
As many of you know, the Elkton Music Department is planning on traveling to Chicago this summer! We are trying a new fundraiser out this year of Band and Choir apparel. The flyers for school picture day are being given to students today. Here are the instructions on how to prepay for your child's pictures:
How To Order Picture Day Photos Online…
1. Go to www.schoolphotosbymark.com
2. Click on “Order Here”
3. Enter “ELSD ”for the event name, click “search”
4. Click on your school district
5. Click on your student’s school
6. Enter your email address and click “login”. All orders are tracked with the email address you enter.
7. You should now see a page with our photo packages. Choose from any of our packages and/or order ala-carte items.
8. Once you are done shopping, click on the “shopping cart” icon. You will be prompted for your student’s information as well as yours.
Some Things You Should Know…
• All Picture Packages are on sale through Picture Day!
• A valid email address is required to place an order.
• You will receive a confirmation email once an order is placed.
• All orders placed through Picture Day will be processed and delivered to the student’s school 2-3 weeks following Picture Day.
• If you are ordering for multiple students, you will need to complete an order for each student you are ordering photos of.
• If you are ordering a Class Picture for an elementary student, the Class Picture will be delivered to the school after retake day.
• All portrait orders will be delivered to your student’s school.

Parade will be outside at 2 PM. After the parade, everyone will enter through door A8 to hold the pep rally in the south gym. While it will take a little time to filter in, given the cold, wind, & wet ground, we believe this will be best for our students, staff, & community members. Go Elks!

Elkton Schools keeps student cumulative record files for five years following graduation, in accordance with state standards. At the end of that time, those records are destroyed and the only information kept is a record of attendance and transcript of grades and activities. Therefore, cumulative records from the Class of 2017 are scheduled to be destroyed this fall. If you are a member of the Class of 2017 and would like to keep your file, please contact Bonnie Yackley (605-542-2541 or Bonnie.Yackley@k12.sd.us ) as soon as possible. Those files not claimed by November 1, 2022, will be destroyed. Thanks!

The junior class attended the Post-High School Planning fair in Brookings yesterday afternoon and have the chance to visit with reps from various colleges, technical schools, and military branches about career opportunities! This is a great time to chat with your junior about their interests and start making visits!
