The Deuel Kiwanis Relays, scheduled for Tuesday April 16th in Clear Lake have been cancelled.
The Track program will hold a practice session on that day.

Please make sure that all negative lunch balances are promptly taken care of. If your student has a negative amount they will not receive seconds on meals or milk. Reminder: if the balance is over -$20 a student will be asked to bring a sack lunch.
With the end of the school year approaching, please be sure to view your lunch balance and send money NOW to ensure your student has enough money to cover the remaining days of school. Any positive balances will carry over to the 2024-2025 school year.

The JH Track Meet in Flandreau scheduled for tomorrow, April 4th has been cancelled.
JH Track athletes will be expected to attend practice on Thursday after school.

(As a reminder, high school honor roll is calculated at semester only.)
NO JH Track practice today. JH kids can go home after school. We will see you next Tuesday! HS will hand out uniforms and have an indoor practice at 4 pm.
Elkton School will start at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 27th. Buses will run on plowed roads. Parents, if you how your road is not passable, please contact your driver to make arrangements to bring your student to the nearest plowed road. After school, we will not attempt to go down any unplowed roads and parents will need to meet the bus along those plowed roads. If it is easier for you to bring your children into school and back from school, please notify your bus driver of your decision.
Elkton School will be closed on Tuesday, March 26th due to road conditions.

SENIORS!! Another reminder that senior pictures (along with a baby and kid picture) need to be shared with Mrs. Yackley by APRIL 1st! Pictures shared after the deadline may not be included in the graduation announcements in the papers, class composite, yearbook, or graduation slideshow so please get them sent ASAP! Guidelines for what is needed are still posted in the Google Classroom.
Elkton Public Schools Kindergarten Screening (for students who will be entering Kindergarten Fall 2024 and have not been in the Elkton Preschool/Jr. Kindergarten program) will be held on April 17th. The screening will take 20 minutes. During this time, the kindergarten teachers will do an informal assessment with the student while parents will have an opportunity to meet with the Kindergarten teachers and register their child for Kindergarten.
Please call the school, 605-542-2541, to make an appointment for your child's screening.
Students who are currently enrolled in the Elkton Preschool/Jr. Kindergarten class do not need to be screened. Parents who live outside of the Elkton School District may apply for open-enrollment for their child when at the screening.

A Healthcare Career Event is being hosted by the Hendricks Community Hospital on April 17th. 10th-12th graders interested in attending should contact Mrs. Yackley and sign up before April 3rd (transportation not provided). Students look for more information in your Google Classroom/email.
The Elkton Chapter of National Honor Society hosted the Community Blood Bank at the school on Monday, March 18th. We had a total of 21 units collected, which will help 63 local patients. Thank you to all who donated!!
