Construction update:
-Mudding and taping of the locker rooms and bathrooms continues. Painting has begun and items such as white boards in the locker rooms are being installed.
-The plumbing inspection was completed paving the way for enclosure work to begin. We are hoping to have ceilings installed by the end of the week.
-Tiling in the girls locker room has
begun.

To help staff and families best plan, we will dismiss at 1pm on Thursday, December 21st.
We are also adjusting the dismissal time on November 22nd. Lake Benton is dismissing at 12:30pm as well and due to shared transportation, we will need to adjust our dismissal time to 1pm.

Applications for membership to the Elkton High School Chapter of National Honor Society are due September 8th by 3:40 pm to Mrs. Yackley. To apply for membership, students must have a GPA of at least 3.7 by the start of their senior year. Students with qualifying GPAs were sent a message with application instructions through the Class of 2024 Google Classroom. Contact Mrs. Yackley with questions!

Crews are still working to clear the debris from Friday evening’s train derailment.
Access into Elkton via Cornell Street is still closed. To get into Elkton you will need to proceed onto North Drive and then turn onto Elk Street.

Construction update:
-Plumbing inspection was completed allowing our plumbing crew to continue with piping.
-Mudding and taping of the drywall in the locker rooms has begun.
A big shout out to our students, staff, and those crews working on this project for their ability to work around each other. We look forward to the changes we will see next week!

The Elkton School & Community Library will be closed on Monday, August 21st.

Sophomores can start their checkouts on Monday at 1 pm.

The pick-up area will be in the lunchroom.

Share the Warmth is a one day free winter outerwear give-away offered to anyone in need in Brookings County.
Registration is required and will close the morning of Monday, October 6th. The event will be held Wednesday, October 11th.
