The Elkton School was the recipient of a $1000 donation courtesy of Pipestone. Pipestone manages the Bobcat Farms in Elkton and employs 16 team members. Some of the children of these workers attend the Elkton School. The money will be used to help purchase items such as headphones for students, Lysol wipes, and other school supplies. We thank Pipestone for their support of our students. Thank you for making a difference! Pictured receiving the check from Margarita Crivelli Diaz of Pipestone is Kelly Neill, Elkton K-6 Principal.

FYI - The Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern Railroad (RCPE) will begin railroad crossing repair work on S.D. Highway 13 in Elkton on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. The repair work is part of RCPE's regular maintenance in the area and will require a temporary closure of Highway 13 at the specified location. There is no official detour route for drivers during the closure. Therefore, drivers must find and use alternative routes to avoid the railroad crossing closure. This may disrupt traffic in the area. The repair work on Highway 13 is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 20, 2023. The highway closure and the resulting traffic rerouting are expected to last for about five days, unless unforeseen circumstances extend the project's duration.
