Congratulations to Elkton High School students on the Spring 2026 Honor Roll!

The girls golf team wrapped up a historic State Meet in Brookings today! The first-ever Elkton-Lake Benton girls’ team to qualify for State finished the 2-day tournament strong, earning 11th place. They were one of only 15 schools in Class B - which consists of 96 teams - to earn a spot in the final event, after a runner-up finish in Region 2.

On the individual side, 11th grader Evie Foss had an excellent two days, finishing 32nd in the 108-player field. Fellow Junior Malyha Slegers charted two very impressive rounds, earning 39th place. Freshman Quinn Slegers and 8th-grader Norah Hansen, both competing in their first State Meet, finished 92nd and 101st, respectively.

Congratulations to Tate Boersma, who broke the school record (his own) yesterday in the Discus at the Dolphin Relays in White. Tait threw 171' 0'' to not only set the record, but also take first at the meet. Way to go, Tait!

Game Day! The Lady Elks will wrap up their regular season today with two BIG games in Arlington. Elkton-Lake Benton will take on Parker in Game 1 at 3:00, and then follow with a matchup against the host Cardinals. First pitch in the second game is set for 5:30. Good luck, Lady Elks!

Super Region Day! After a 4th place finish in District 2 during the regular season, Elkton-Lake Benton earned a spot in the Super Region Tournament. The tournament consists of the top 4 teams from Districts 1 and 2. The games on E-LB's side of the bracket will be played today at Flynn Field in Madison, with the 8th-seeded Blue Sox taking on #1 seed Madison/Chester/ORR in the first matchup. First pitch is set for 1:00PM. Game 2 will follow and feature Groton Area and Sioux Valley/Estelline/Arlington. The winners of the first two games face off in the championship, with the last team standing qualifying for the Class B State Tournament.
