July 1-7 is the state-wide moratorium. During this time, there should be no athlete/coach contact. To help enforce the moratorium, the gyms and weight room will be closed July 1-7. Enjoy the break!

Teachers from the Elkton School District attended the Elevate. Educate. Empower. Moving Literacy Forward Across South Dakota literacy conference on June 2–3 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Hosted by the Department of Education, this professional development event focused on the Science of Reading, offering valuable insights, tools, and strategies to strengthen literacy instruction for students of all ages.

Congratulations to Tanner Stein who placed 3rd in the Long Jump and 6th in the 400 Meter Dash at the 2025 Class A South Dakota State Track and Field Meet.
Tanner jump 20' 10.25" to secure 3rd place in the Long Jump
Tanner ran a 51.24 400 meter dash to place 6th in the 400, and finish his career with the Elks.

Congratulations to Tait Boersma for securing TWO 3rd place finishes at the 2025 Class A State Track and Field Meet.
Tait finished 3rd in the Shot Put on Thursday with a toss of 51' 11.75"
Tait finished 3rd in the Discus today, with a throw of 151' 2" , setting a Personal Record in the Process

Tanner Stein broke the Long Jump record with a leap of 22' 5.75" breaking the previous record of 21'8" set by Steve Leech in 1987.
Tait Boersma broke the Shot Put record with a toss of 54' 0.25" breaking the previous record of 53'6" set by Dave Krogman in 1985.
